Here's the first day's fishing trip on Flathead Lake! The guy in the photos is my big brother. That's a 37 1/2" / 20lbs Laker. The big one in the Spring Mack Days tournament is 39 1/2" / 26 pounder but we didn't let that dampen our spirits. I caught a 28 1/2" / 5# and my son caught a 16 incher. You can see that the weather was phenomenal on Saturday, we forgot the sunscreen... I love my boat and it performs awesome. I'm sure you hear this sort of thing all the time, but the 150HP Verado is absolutely incredible. You didn't exaggerate at all how awesome it is. We topped out at 47 MPH but was also able to troll down to 1.4 which is the optimum speed for laker trolling on Flathead. The motor is unbelievably quiet. When trolling, a sewing machine makes more sound than this motor. Everything they advertise about Verado is true.
This a very stable boat that fishes extremely well. I will feel very safe on the big water. This day started with 2' whitecaps and I could tell that the boat is going to handle rough water quite well. The downriggers and seats on the rear deck work great. The rear live well will accommodate a fish like this easily. We also spent a little time trolling/jigging with the bow mount and that worked like a dream. On memorial day I'll be trolling with fly rods on Swan Lake for Rainbows and this boat will be very effective and just about as comfortable as it gets. The Lowrance GPS fish finder worked great though I haven't totally figured out all the cool features yet.
Thanks for the great service Josh, and thanks to the rest of Tobler Marina and John for taking such good care of this boat. We are really happy! I've already told all my friends about Tobler Marina and would confidently recommend you to anyone.
Take Care,
Mark T. Johnson
